8 more days!!!!

Yesterday I finally forced myself to get outside and ride. I went "around the block". On the way out of my subdivision, there is a blue heron that is hanging out by our lake! It was there again this morning. I don't know why it wants to hang out by our lake, it has no fish.

Once again the bald eagle was sitting on the telephone pole on Bates Road by the Teton River. They are huge, beautiful and impressive! About half way around the block, I could see a HUGE thunderstorm rolling in. Luckily, I missed most of it!

Today I went for a run and ride. Both went well! Dolly, our miniature schnauzer accompanied me on my run. She loves running! Here's a picture of her with highlights.

I'm so nervous about the Vineman. All of my doubts and fears are rolling in since the training has tapered off. Will I be able to do it? Will I finish? Will I disappoint everyone??

Lastly, I want to share that balancing meds is so important for people with Addison's (and other diseases too). If our meds aren't the right ones for us, taken at the best times for us or taken in the correct quantities, it's so hard to be your best. Please keep a med journal where you keep track of how you feel. It's so important to be your best. YOU DESERVE IT!! Don't settle for a doctor telling you you have no options left or you are feeling the best you can hope to feel. If you have a doctor who is telling you that or is not up to date on the latest research, RUN!!! Find someone who cares about you as a person and wants you to be the best you that you can be!

Montana for rejuvenation

Paul and I went to Darby, Montana for a long weekend. This is the third year in a row we've gone to visit A&D and to see Darby Logger Days. Darby Logger Days is a lumberjack competition. Logger Days has a parade. Here are a couple of pictures from the parade. That's a souped up chainsaw on the back of that semi truck!

My favorite part of the parade was all the candy they threw. I only knocked one kid over for it (kidding).

As you can probably guess, Darby, Montana is a logging town. The sign below is from the laundromat. No spiked shoes refers to the shoes that the loggers wear.

Although the picture of the cowboy on a bike is not clear or centered, you get the idea of what a different world Darby is from where the rest of us live. The bike rider was about 70. Yes, that's his cow dog running beside him!

So Montana! So perfect! I think this is my favorite gym name ever!!

Allison and Sheree made this great poster for me. Thanks ladies!

About me (stop reading here if you don't want to hear complaining!): Well, mentally, I was shot last week. The trail run on the Pass helped immeasurably as did the trail runs with Paul and Allison this weekend. We ran on Tin Cup Trail and around Lake Como. Both runs went great. I've been physically tired though. I rested (*choke*) three days in a row!!! Today I think I am ready to get up and out. I hope my body will hold out for the Vineman. I think it will with careful hydration, eating, medication and sticking to my race plan. Zane is visiting his grandmas and grandpas for the next month so the next week of mental and physical preparations will be uninterrupted.
