If you're interested in following my progress during the 50 mile race, here's the link to live updates. Live updates will start being available between 8:00 am and 9:00 am Mountain Standard Time on Saturday, September 1. My bib number is 542.
I'm super nervous about this race. More so than the Vineman. Ignorance was bliss for the Vineman! I know exactly what to expect for this race. I even know my favorite rocks to jump off like a spaz and where it's going to be so steep that I might cry. Luckily with this race, the bathroom opportunities are numerous. The Vineman had few bathrooms and if you were caught relieving yourself somewhere other than the 6 porta potties they had available on the WHOLE COURSE, you were disqualified. Try riding your bike 25 miles with a very full bladder, not fun!!!

Thank a volunteer!
If you see a volunteer, someone who volunteers for anything, thank him or her! Volunteers work hard for nothing but the satisfaction of knowing they've helped someone.
Sometimes it's lonely being a volunteer!!!

50 Mile Race - September 1, 2007
Yep, I'm doing the 50 mile race at Grand Targhee Ski & Summer Resort in Alta, Wyoming on Saturday September 1. This is the same race where I did the trail marathon a year ago. The course is beautiful and the race is very well run. I am looking forward to running on my home turf. The race is about 25 miles from my house so I can sleep in my own bed before and after the race and there's no traveling involved!!
I'm looking forward to walking and running this challenging course. The vertical elevation gain for the 50 mile race is nearly 10,000 vertical feet, ensuring that I will not be able to walk for a couple of days after the race.
I have a Power Point of the course and I'll try to post it here. If I can't post it and you want to see it, email me and I'll email it off to you.
