Pine Creek Pass run and pretty scenery

I seem to be obsessed with this barn.  I take pictures of it year round.  Lucky for you, I don't post all of them.
The other day, I forced myself to run outside.  I ran up Pine Creek Pass on the side of the highway and then on the snowmobile track.  I was running into the clouds.

A snow stake near the summit of PCP.  Looks like nearly four and a half feet of snow to me.
At the summit.
Another shot of the signs to give you an idea of how deep the snow is.

A sign in the parking lot.  You'll have to wait until spring to read all of this baby.  A plow had recently dug this parking lot down pretty deep.  I had to climb a 3.5 foot snow wall to get to the trail.

Snowmachine track.  I was there all by myself.  Very peaceful.   I missed Meara terribly when I came up here.

This is one of many reasons I hate winter running.  My water bottle kept freezing.

Running into the clouds.

Aftermath of a fall on ice.  Luckily, no one was driving by on the highway when I fell.

Cold morning view of the Red Mountain in the Big Holes.

Sunrise on the Grand Teton.

A stunning sunset.

I think the barn is pretty cool as well. Beautiful shots! Lana C.

  2. Dusty, So you are braving the cold, I see!! Sure beats the scenery in the gym or your garage!! But the ice...yikes! I am hitting the road tomorrow, (10 miles) and it will be around +2 degrees, but should be sunny and no wind, if forecast holds up. My route is rolling, to flat, and should be little ice on the road.

    Take care, Ken
