Blog changes

Thanks to everyone who followed Training Because I Can! over the last nine years. This blog started with Addison's Disease, hypothyroidism and a crazy idea of doing an Ironman distance triathlon. My life has changed and so has this blog. I am using this blog strictly for Addison's Support topics from here on out. I hope to continue providing people with hints for living life well with adrenal insufficiency.

P from Ohio

P - I am sorry you are so angry and your life is so bad that you feel like you want to undermine a fund raising campaign that I've (and many other selfless people) have been putting every spare bit of effort toward for the last 9 months (see the thank yous below). Please let go of the anger and understand we can all help each other by talking, sharing, asking questions and LISTENING.

I hope that things get better for you. Don't let misdirected anger get the best of you. Anger is detrimental to you and anyone you are directing it toward.

The definition of volunteerism is giving and expecting NOTHING in return. Many who volunteer get satisfaction out of helping others, expecting a return can leave you, obviously, feeling very empty.

The last 9 months of training are going to culminate in an awesome event that will raise awareness about Addison's Disease, allow me to meet the Northern California contingent of the NADF, raise money to help others, contribute to a great cause through my time, money, blood, sweat and tears and to make a difference and inspire at least one person in the world. I'm also going to test the hell out of my meds, training and endurance.
Best of luck to you P. I hope your day and life get better. I'm doing this race for all of us, even you. Today I am going to think of you and send positive thoughts your way while I ride and run for over 3 hours. I am sure I am generating a LOT of positive energy for you!! YOU CAN'T BRING ME DOWN! :) Dusty
