Blog changes

Thanks to everyone who followed Training Because I Can! over the last nine years. This blog started with Addison's Disease, hypothyroidism and a crazy idea of doing an Ironman distance triathlon. My life has changed and so has this blog. I am using this blog strictly for Addison's Support topics from here on out. I hope to continue providing people with hints for living life well with adrenal insufficiency.

Teton Ultrarunning Camp

I've had the privilege of joining in with Lisa and Jay Batchen's Teton Ultrarunning camp and it's been so much fun! I'm meeting some great people and learning so much. I would encourage anyone interested in running to attend one of Lisa & Jay's camps!

Below is a slide show from today. Enjoy!

Despite the heat and the exertion, my energy level is good. I'm staying medicated, fed and hydrated. I'm taking about 30 mg of HC/day.

June Update

Snake River Bench Trail overlooking the South Fork of the Snake River - second week of June

Well, here goes and I'm going to try to make it quick.

I got a job before I left to Utah as a caretaker of a ranch just a few miles from my house. I take care of the inside of the houses. It's a beautiful location and interesting so far. I feel very lucky to have gotten such an interesting, flexible job.

I've done some running and there are pictures of the scenery and interesting stuff I saw around the way.

The trip to Utah for Desert RATS was incredible. It was sunny and hot. There were 10 runners and 4 mountain bikers. I mostly did support for the runners and bikers and helped around camp. It was very inspiring to see what people can do with their bodies and how hard they pushed them. I've included a few pictures from the Desert RATS in the slide show below.

The return to Idaho was nice because it's been sunny and warm here - Thank goodness!!! Flowers are blooming, trees are filling out and I'm not wearing a sweater!

Sorry for not emailing anyone. I can't keep on top of things.

Tomorrow through Saturday or Sunday I will be helping Lisa and Jay Batchen at a Teton Ultra Running camp. I will probably mostly tag along but I'm grateful for the opportunity and I hope to learn a lot.
